It’s always cool to see what one of the larger of the social networking websites comes out with next.  One hopes that it’s going to be an application that will be easy to use with a laptop or mobile phone.  Greater accessibility with phones can expand the impact an application has.  We shouldn’t forget that slowly but surely, mobile phones are playing a bigger and bigger role in our lives.

It looks as if Facebook is the next one out of the gate.  You can now download a Facebook Desktop Application that uses Adobe AIR to allow many accounts to stream live with friendly messages and other fun things.

If you have downloaded TweetDeck already, then you an idea of how live streaming works.  This is another great way for friends around the world to stay in touch that much easier, especially on a mobile phone.

I had a good feeling about this application right away because of my past experiences with Adobe AIR.  It’s just always nice when something works the way it’s supposed to.

It kind of reminds me of an easy-to-use Twitter stream but with different options.  This application is going to be a great way for people with mobile phones and Facebook accounts to stay in touch.  It’s nice to see such a clean and non-cluttered way for Facebook friends to stay communicate with one another.

Twitter is Growing

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

Still don’t know what Twitter is?  You have come to the right place.  Twitter could well be one of the most use-friendly social networking tools around.

With this mini-blogging utility, you can keep thousands of followers up-to-date with your every thought. For example, if you’re keeping up with someone who lives in Hawaii, you can get the opportunity to see what they’re doing when they snap a photo using their cell phone and then upload it to their Twitter page.  By “following” a user on Twitter, you can keep tabs on what they’re doing as they update their profile with messages, links, and media.

It is quite amazing how fast the Twitter phenomenon has grown.  With its ease of use and dissemination (you can even update your Twitter profile through your cellphone), it has become an indelible part of the “Information Superhighway.”

There are many tools that people can access online to use and support Twitter. You might want to pick the applications that have the greatest appeal for your personality.

For me, one of these would be the TweetDeck.

TweetDeck is an Adobe AIR desktop Twitter application, and is currently being used by thousands of people around the world.  One of the features of TweetDeck is that you can be notified via popup the moment you receive a reply from a friend.  There are many other features, but suffice it to say, this application is great for helping you stay organized and will enhance your Twittering experience.

Gathering Success for Your Website

Friday, April 17th, 2009

Have you ever wondered how many of the successful and popular websites have managed to find their way to that blissfully wonderful place?  I’m sure many of us, especially those in the Internet business, have pondered that question.

It’s important to remember that there are many different ways millions of people around the Web have made their money.  The ”unique factor” is what makes hundreds of online entrepreneurs so fascinating to interview and ask about how they achieved their success.

One of the best ways to pull your idea up from the ground is to advertise your website on another that is already successful. This is a solid means for you to be seen by many of online surfers who have already put their trust in that successful website. If they see your advertisement on a trustworthy and successful website, odds are in your favor that they will think of your website in the same way.
